Add -ed to write the past tense of regular verbs.  Here are some examples:

want --> wanted

walk --> walked

wash --> washed

There are three different ways to pronounce -ed:  /Id/ , /t/, and /d/

(Letters in slashes, /  /, represent sounds.)

want --> wanted, want/Id/

walk --> walked, walk/t/

watch --> washed, wash/d/
