What is a college major?

What should you major in when you go to college?

How do college majors play a role in your career?

This week, explore what college majors are and what majors you might be interested in.

Step one:

Google what a college major is. Search a few different sites and come up with 2-3 sentences that cover the most important information about college majors.

Step two:

Make a list of a few careers you are interested in.

Step three:

Search which majors are most beneficial to those careers. A lot of careers have different pathways! List all of the majors that might be beneficial to each career.

Step four:

Create a list of 7-9 majors you are most interested in.

Step five:

Find multiple colleges that offer these majors. Not all universities offer the same majors. Find new universities you've never heard of! Don't just list the ones you already know. Also, find which universities have top programs for those majors.

Assignment:

Upload a document with ALL of your research!

Note: Do NOT rush through your research. This isn't JUST an assignment for Advisory. This is real information you can use for yourself in the future.

Due: Tues., September 28
